Vera Gold foundation—a leading front line foundation registered in the United Kingdom, Spain and of course Nigeria—has appreciated the Nigerian Senate, Senate President, and Deputy Senate President for their anti-sexual harassment bill, which was aimed to target the menaces ravaging the country.
The foundation, which was registered to fight against sexual harassment and rape, and is headed by Vera Chika Osagiede, has brought more awareness to the Bestiality Act both in Nigeria and other countries.
Vera Chika , who is also the CEO of Vera Gold production, disclosed while speaking to journalists that it was necessary to appreciate the Nigerian Senate as well as the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie OMO Agege, for their anti-sexual harassment bill.
She explained that their support in the fight against the Bestiality Act shows that the senate truly sympathise with their people and want to do whatever they can do improve the status quo. In her words, “it was important to write a letter of appreciation to the Nigerian Senate, including the Deputy Senate President, Ovie OMO Agege, for the bill.”
Disclosing further, Vera Chika stated that most women who had suffered as a result of this evil act were unlikely to report the incident revealing was the reason the foundation set up help centers and organised sensitisation programs to inform the population about the validity of their cases and encourage them to report the incidents.
