Ika South LG Boss Commissions Dua Projects ****** Appreciates Okowa, Dein Of Agbor For Support

The Ika South Local Government Chairman, Hon.( Barr.) Victor Okoh has commissioned two projects in the Local government Area of Delta State which are Edike Utral Modern Market and the Abavo Police Station.

The colourful event which took place the same day, November 5th 2020, was historic and euphoric as it marked a new dawn for the residents, especially the market men and women who are to use the Ultra Modern Market, as the long and anticipated day of commissioning finally comes to an end.

The Chairnman, who appreciated the State Governor, Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, Dr. Benjamin Keagboekuzi 1, for their overwhelming support in an open speech, noted that the market was built on the collaboration of the traders under the arrangement of build and transfer which made the council not to spend a dime in the actualisation of her dreams.

The Council Boss who continued through the joyous disposition, expressed joy while leading the hi-Powered delegation of the Governor, to inspect the Former CTC market immediately after commissioning the Market and the Police Station.

He mentioned the capacity of the market, disclosing that the market consist of 315 lockup shops, 2000 open shops, 2 slautter slab and toilet facilities just as he appealed to the market men and women to co-operate with one another and to see that they abide by the terms and conditions in the acceptance letter of allotment.

Synchronizing with no element of contradiction, with Hon. Victor Okoh, Rev. Father Debie Mario had earlier pleaded with the market users when he went for the spiritual fortification of the market, to see that they develop maintenance attitude just as he apealed to the Chairman to see that they develop a concise rules and regulations to guide and stir the ultra modern market to the right direction.

The Clergy during his spiritual fortification went on to pray for the sick, emphasized the need for prayers. He further noted that it is only a healthy man that can carry out his duty as a trader or market man.

He blessed the market and warned against the use of charm among traders while also encouraging them to step up their trade by upgrading from retail to a wholesale to see that the frequent to and fro visits to Onitsha and its harzards is totally averted or avoided.

Reacting to the Chairman’s speech, the Special Adviser To The Governor, on Local Government Affairs, Hon. Prince Kenny Congratulated Hon. Victor Okoh for this perfect project, stating that PPP is the order of the day. His words “when other councils are v that there is a casting down he can say there is a casting up just as he thanked everyone that participated in the project.

Also speaking further in an Interview with our newsmen, was the commissioner for trade and investment, Hon. Victor Ossai, who explained that the market will add value to the economy.

He pleaded with the traders to make good use of the market and told them to stay off the street.

Speaking to our reporters after the commissioning was Edwin Okoh, the Ika South Youth Leader, who acknowledged that the L.G.A chairman started with a slow paste but released his whole heart to the people towards the tail end of his administration.
